After having a terrible experience at Capital Hills Apartment Homes, where even the store manager (Not stating name) but was a male, was unhelpful and made an already stressful moving process even worse, I was honestly expecting more of the same. Thankfully, my experience here was the complete opposite. My friend and I toured this community, and this beautiful young lady was so precious! And whats even better is that’s her name!! She welcomed us with a smile, took her time showing us around, answered every question we had, and never made us feel rushed. She was patient, professional, and genuinely cared about making sure we felt comfortable throughout the tour. My friend even mentioned afterward how much she enjoyed the experience and how great Precious was. After dealing with the nightmare of trying to move, meeting someone who actually cared and treated us with kindness meant more than she probably realizes. Props to this young lady!!

We lived here for 8 months and overall loved it. We probably would have renewed our lease if we weren’t moving out of state. Our unit was spacious and had a great layout- moving here from a house, we loved how it didn’t feel like an apartment. Some of the finish work wasn’t great but not a huge deal. It was very quiet- you couldn’t hear anyone next to you and could barely hear the people above you on occasion. The leasing office was always super helpful and responded quickly to emails and messages. We needed maintenance one time when our A/C wasn’t working and they were there to fix it within the hour. The area felt super safe and there never seemed to be any issues. Plenty of sidewalks all around which was convenient to walk or run. One complaint is other people in the complex not picking up after their dogs. There was always dog poop lying around outside and even inside on the carpet sometimes. I just finished my 15-month lease at Cortland and overall, I loved living here. 95% of the time, you’ll be happy here. It’s a great area, super walkable to the Metro and National Landing. Whole Foods and Costco are nearby, the neighbors are generally quiet, the amenities are well maintained, and the floor plans are spacious, bright, and good quality. The maintenance team is also incredibly responsive, and I rarely had any issues during my time here. My biggest criticism is the leasing office and management team. While some staff members are friendly and helpful, the office as a whole feels disorganized, difficult to reach, and poorly coordinated. During both move-in and move-out, I often had to physically go to the office multiple times just to get answers or speak with the right person. We also experienced repeated emails, missed messages, and inconsistent communication between staff members. The move-out process was especially frustrating. I toured with my brother today, and Precious was great. She was so kind and explained everything really well. When we walked through the super nice fitness center, a resident even made a point to greet her. That alone showed how much people appreciate her. She definitely made a strong first impression.
