My boyfriend and I rented a 1-bedroom apartment from May 2023 to May 2024 and we loved our time here. I wanted to live in a safe, quiet, conveniently-located community and that is exactly what we got during our stay. Wanda was our leasing agent and go-to person every time we needed something. She was always so helpful and easy to reach via email since I work odd hours. While we did have a leaking issue in the ceiling of our bathroom and our freezer stopped working, these problems were eventually fixed after I spoke with management. We would have happily renewed our lease if we hadn't found our dream house.

This is one of the few communities I’ve toured that comes with the washer and dryer. I toured the Town and Country and I loved that they have garden tubs. I was going to apply but it’s too far from my job. They offer everything I was looking for and Alexis really explained the pricing very well! Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for great apartment housing!

Ms Alexis and Ms Wanda were such a delight and so knowledgeable. I came in for a spontaneous tour with no appointment booked and they instantly accommodated me. The environment is so clean and so welcoming. Alexis without any hesitation showed two properties and took me on a tour around the community. She also showed us videos and even went out of her way to answer my long list of questions. The renovations are so lovely. The Samsung appliances? A WIN for me! Now can we talk about the interior of the ‘Town and Country’ model home?!?! So gorgeous. Wonderful staff - Ms Alexis and Ms Wanda. Beautiful interior in the leasing office (and it smelled so gorgeous). The Cart that was used to take us on the tour was a nice touch. Highly recommend!

My experience has been wonderful so far. I’ve lived here for over 6 months and any issues I have encountered get solved almost immediately. I believe the apartment is completley worth its price and I use the pool, gym, and coffee machine often. Never had an issue finding parking, the valet trash is really helpful, and the maintenance team is very nice and always fixes my issues within two days. There have been some bug problems but their pest control normally handles them within a week or two. Overall, love living here and will be renewing my lease!

Simply put, you should be cloned: Kind, patient, personable, professional, and knowledgeable. I have lived here for a few years through other management. I can say Cortland came in with there sleeves rolled up with the mind to work renovating and beautifying the property and implementing things like the food trucks the yoga sessions and coffee for the residents and not just the staff that makes it nice to be here. I add it's not a perfect place but they come so close especially with no bug issues of any kind inside my place no leaks no a/c problems yes had issues about theft but they have been quick about informing residents and having security present on property so no it's not perfect but far from being the worst. And that's real talk!

Been living here since June. For the most part it is a nice residence. But the ROACHES are are a CONSISTENT problem. I am a relatively clean person. I don’t leave food out. My apartment isn’t messy. I take my trash out regularly. Idk what is bringing them in but they get in through the openings in my windowsill and my front door due to the SLOPPY renovation done on my unit. I’ve had maintenance come out several times to seal the gaps but I’m maybe it wasn’t done right bc they still get in. I know the spaces aren’t sealed because when it rains, water gets in. I shouldn’t have to sit in here and watch over the maintenance workers shoulders to make sure things get done right. Speaking of the renovation-I have had to submit maintenance requests twice now for faulty electrical wiring in my apartment, and I’m about to submit a third maintenance request for the same issue. It’s a fire hazard and it’s not being repaired properly. Again, for the most part I enjoy this community but this is ridiculous. I pay way too mu

Leanna was great! The tour was amazing and she was very insightful. We toured the 2 bedroom apartment and the rooms and restrooms were a great size, the patio was huge, and they even have a new washer and dryer in the renovated units. I currently live at the copper springs apartment and heard of this apartment. They definitely live up to what I was told about the apartment.

Leanna was really comforting and pleasant to tour with! The apartment itself was really nice. I toured the renovated 1bed 1 bath. Although it was only 787 square feet it had plenty of storage areas (including pantry, linen closet, entry closet, and outside storage). It felt very spacious and homey with the bookshelves and built in desk. The only reason I took off one star is due to the construction around the area - there was a ton of traffic nearby and the construction didn’t really help.

I have been touring plenty of places and had not had a lease agent that was so knowledgeable about the property and very patient with all my questions. Me and my family have lived her for about 4 years now. It has been a good experience. The office staff is really great and maintenance is very prompt. The layout of the apartments and the amenities are great. We have had little to no issues the whole time we’ve been here. They really do pride themselves on making sure their tenants are taken care of. I highly I recommend this place. Pablo is one of the maintenance man here and he is absolutely the best. There was an issue with my air conditioner right before the office was closing and he came right over to fix it. (drove a hour) You can tell he really cares and is a very hard worker. Houston weather is no joke

I stopped by to see what Cortland West Houston had to offer and let me just say, this is a place I can call home. What an elegant office with modern touches throughout but that wasn’t even the best part. The staff is what brings this place alive! I was greeted as soon as I entered the place. Even the property manager (Alissa I believe was her name) introduced herself and had me excited about what they offered. The model was beautifully decorated and the pool look had me feeling like I was at a resort. Fantastic tour I had and the rent prices were fair. I cannot say enough about the office staff at this apartment complex. You guys made me feel at home!!

The new apartment renovations are first-class. Literally everything is brand new in the apartments. They are a tad pricey, but given the new finishes I cant complain. The location cant be beat with easy access to I-10 and the Beltway, not to mention Highway 6.

I love the upgrades happening at the complex. Landscaping upgrades were definitely needed. The new rentals are really nice with custom touches. Location is incredible being close to the Katy Freeway and HW6. Take a look.

Nice complex with all of the new renovations going on. Fantastic gym and pool area. They also have a nice dog run that is fenced in so you can let your pup get out some energy. High quality cabinets and appliances in the new renovated apartments.

I love my apartment, and so far it seems to be a wonderful community. In the short month that I’ve been here they’ve hosted fitness classes, and had multiple food trucks! Love the commitment of the maintenance staff and the office staff to making sure my maintenance request was completed quickly. It was an issue with my refrigerator but they got it handled quick. Bruce and Justin are the best! And Lonnie at the office, thank you for all your help!

I would like some newer amenities in the complex, parking lots repaired and a different trash service but other than that I love it here. It’s a semi quiet community in a decent area. I love that it’s close to all the parks!

I have had a positive experience with the maintenance team for being professional and prompt in response to my maintenance request. Overall Avana Heather Ridge, provides a positive community through the facilities they provide to the residents such as the pool, and safe walking area. Came in to walk a 2 bedroom apartment for my roommate and I, and Ms. Adina was such a welcoming representative and excited to help me with my experience which Was by far the best encounter I had in shopping apartments in the Houston area. Unfortunately I was unable to lease because of availability and the time frame however would recommend to a family or friend and would be interested in leasing in the future.

Came in just a few minutes before closing and everyone was still so welcoming. I was only asking for prices so i didn’t tour the community but the staff was amazing. When i am ready to move i will most definitely be choosing Cortland West Houston!
