Macey, Jennifer and the whole team at leasing office are really friendly, patient and are easy to work with. Great location and the building offers lots of activities. Additionally, the apartments are newly renovated and really modern, def one of the best in pentagon city.

Since moving in, we’ve truly enjoyed this building. The location is fantastic, with so many great food options nearby, making it an easy and fun place to live. Our building has a concierge/front desk woman named Cleo . From the moment we moved in, she went above and beyond—especially when we were having issues with packages being returned. She took the time to learn our names and unit number, which made such a difference and showed how much she genuinely cares about residents. She always greets everyone with a warm smile and a positive attitude, no matter the time of day. It’s rare to come across someone so consistently kind, attentive, and dedicated. Cleo doesn’t just do her job—she elevates the entire living experience. We’re so grateful for her!

We moved up from Georgia on very short notice and the Community Manager, Macey, went above and beyond to accommodate us. I was nervous about this move being pregnant and having a toddler, but the staff made this process so smooth. The area is amazing, I can walk to parks, grocery stores, restaurants, daycare, and all sorts. Not to mention my apartment is beautiful. All in all great staff and community, would recommend.

Macey Shonyo (Assistant Community Manager) and Freddie with the maintenance team at Cortland Pentagon City have been absolutely outstanding. From day one, Macey has been professional, responsive, and genuinely helpful—she makes communication easy and always follows through. On the maintenance side, Freddie and the team provide some of the best service I’ve experienced in an apartment community: fast response times, respectful and courteous in-home service, and they take the time to get things done the right way. A couple examples: when I had issues with my washing machine and stove, they responded quickly, diagnosed the problem efficiently, and resolved it without me having to chase updates. What I appreciate most is their attention to preventive maintenance: especially with the A/C and heater, staying ahead of issues so I’m not dealing with emergencies later. Overall, the customer service and maintenance support here is top-tier, and I truly feel taken care of. Highly recommend!

Been living in Cortland Pentagon City for two years now, and my experience thus far has been very pleasant and comfortable. I love the unit I am in and it truly feels like a home, I enjoy all the available amenities especially pool and grills during the summer. Macey one of the managers here is not only professions but very personable and makes you feel heard and appreciated, something that I didn’t experience in previous apartments/communities. I have even recommended and referred many of my friends to live here and I will continue to do so.

We have been living at the Cortland for several years. We absolutely love it. When we needed more space, we changed apartments instead of moving. The area is beautiful and it's convenient. The bldg staff is responsive and they are quick to handle any and all issues. They also follow up to see if you're satisfied with your work. I report everything and they handle issues with the most professional responses. We have building activities that are posted. The grounds are nice and clean and we have the most beautiful wine and sanctuary on the top floor. I reserved it for Thanksgiving and my family was so impressed. We had a wonderful dinner then did a paint and sip. Pictures below. I highly recommend this property. It's perfect. My family is extremely happy.

Josue arrived incredibly fast—approximately 20 minutes after I placed the emergency call. I moved into Cortland Pentagon City last Friday. Since it’s my first time living in the Washington area, everything feels new, and the process of finding a home was not easy. However, with the help of Dashe and the leasing office staff, I was able to settle in smoothly. Dashe, in particular, was incredibly kind and patient, always answering my many questions and providing valuable support. Cortland Pentagon City has become very comfortable and pleasant after the recent renovations. Of course, there may be some minor inconveniences, but I am looking forward to living happily here.

I’ve really enjoyed living here. The apartment community is clean, quiet, and well-maintained. The two pools are a major highlight, perfect for both relaxing and socializing. It’s rare to find a place that offers two separate pool areas, and having that option has been a great benefit. The location is another reason this apartment stands out. It’s close to shops, restaurants, and major roads, which makes commuting and running errands very convenient. Even with everything nearby, the community still feels peaceful and private. The management team is helpful and responsive, and maintenance requests have been handled quickly and professionally. My boyfriend and I moved in to Cortland PC in March. The reviews scared me a little bit, but I’m glad we didn’t listen to them. We had a few slight things with move in process, but all were negligible. The maintenance team is top tier, and will come the next day after putting a request in. There are 2 beautiful rooftop pools. You’re walking distance to Whole Foods and tons of shops, restaurants & the mall. The social deck is clean and has working grills (unheard of at most apartments) and our concierge’s are always so kind and friendly. The gym is kept very clean. The residents that live in our building are so nice. The only con I can say, which no where is perfect, is the elevator situation. A lot of the time there is only one working elevator - and if you live into building 1331 there is no freight elevator. Make sure if your buying a couch or bringing your own you measure the couch and elevator - we did have to return our couch after purchasing a new one because it did not fit in the ‘freight’ elevator - w

Everything I needed was just a short walk or quick metro ride away—shops, restaurants, and major attractions like the Pentagon, National Mall, and Crystal City. Being so close to both the city center and Reagan National Airport made getting around effortless. The building amenities were also a huge plus. And the value you get for the location, renovated units and reopened amenities is great, making the remaining renovation projects like the elevators and entryway more palatable. The complex is located in a great area, the amenities are really nice, and I have been treated very well by the staff here, in particular Laquita, Melvin, Barbie, and Everett. It can get a little loud with the renovations if you work from home, but it hasn’t been a major concern. Overall, I’ve had a wonderful time living here!

Dashe walked me through the entire process and constantly went above and beyond to help me make my decision and choose my apartment. I am beyond thankful for her support, and if it weren’t for her I wouldn’t be here at this moment. Apart from their support while moving in, they have also provided the entire building with constant activities and support. Through them, and the rest of their team, I have been able to make friends through community events such as Doughnut Day, Yappy Hour (celebrating our pets), and so much more! We move to cortland last year and we definitely recommend to move here. The area is great, the building is getting better and better with the construction almost finish (the thing that we really like the most are the community spaces) and also the maintenance team is the best. Melvin the maintenance manager take care of every problem in our apartment since we move and we always came as fast as possible, he really does a wonderful job also managing the whole staff that also came to help us when we need.

I’ve lived at CPC for a few years now & can say the maintenance department is amazing!!! The manager is named Melvin & he always gets the work orders out quickly, has his crew knock out the work, & always has a positive attitude. Melvin is the person who keeps the building running & is always talking to residents as he traverses through the building. Melvin & his team are the best I have experienced while living up here & we (residents) & Cortland corporation is lucky to have him.

I moved here right before Christmas. I transferred from another Cortland location and it was a seamless process. I even got to partake in the rent special upon move in. I also gotta say, the leasing staff is amazing and so is the concierge staff. They make you feel like you matter. I’ve had a great time getting to know a few of the staff in particular — Laquita, Barbie, Barbara, and Everett. Even when it comes to getting my maintenance requests completed in a timely manner. Melvin manages the staff well. Top notch service all around! I recommend this place, especially once construction is closer to completion.

I’m a newby to the community but Laquita and the rest of the team have been fantastic to work with. They’ve been responsive and helped me out with any issues/concerns I’ve had thus far. The unit itself is beautiful and cozy and you can’t beat 6 weeks of free rent! The construction is annoying but it’s temporary. :)

I’ve been living at Cortland for over six months now, and I’ve had a great experience so far. First, Cortland offers beautiful & newly renovated units at stellar prices - with their deals in place, we were able to get a great unit at a low price. Second, we’ve never had any issue with concierge/packages. Everyone is courteous and I’ve never had a package go missing! Third, the rooftop amenities are wonderful and there has never been any issue with residents - the crowd is older and professional. There is very limited rowdiness. I will say that the construction is annoying at times - but I’ll accept it because it’s temporary. We love the dog park and use it routinely too.

The units are nice. I have lived at Cortland for almost two years in their largest 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms unit. I've had some problems, but staff has been trained or removed. I very much respect the Manager, Didi and LaQuita. Also the new women in the front desk. The older nice lady and the young one are great at their jobs. Always my mail is there on time and are super helpful. Melvin is a really good guy and does miracles to keep the building performing great. I see that the Manager of the apartments really cares about his building and his tenants. Jordan Long is a great business person and is training his staff to be courteous and down to business like he is. No more drama, or waste of time just business transactions and efficacy. Great guy to work with. I'd like to thank him personally for saving Cortland and he should get a promotion, same for LaQuita, Didi, and Melvin. They get so stressed and fix so much every day. People don't notice, but we notice that they are the backbone of a great organization.

Moved from downstairs in 104 over to the newly renovated rooms and man I am blown away by how nice they are. More spacious and love the overall look. Highlight of each day is coming home to my own cozy personal space. Thank you to the awesome team for all you do, especially to maintenance who replaced a dented fridge without me even noticing or asking. Positives to living here is it is close to a lot of restaurants, including some good Mexican food, Alamo Drafthouse movie theater that has good dining in and drinks, as well as Sunshine Massage Center within walking distance. Also there is a grocery store across the street, hiking trails, and own personal gym attached for residents, plus a metro nearby for easy transit.

Morales was very quick and efficient with getting to our service ticket. Was nice and punctual with showing up at the scheduled time with all his equipment. I have lived here for little over a month and this place has exceeded all expectations and is fantastic. Just signed a lease with a very quick turnaround time after we were severely mistreated by the leasing office at another nearby building. Dashe was our leasing agent, and from the moment we stepped in the building, she made sure we had all the information and support we needed to make a decision. I believe the building was recently bought by a larger company and they are renovating (hence some of the reviews about noise and construction). That said they are putting a lot of effort into beautifying the apartments and amenities. We saw the apartment Wednesday, applied that night at 8PM and were approved to sign a lease Thursday 8AM. We are moving in Friday and can’t thank Dashe enough for the seamless process and her hard work. Give that girl a raise! Looking forward to living here

The Service Manager Carlos repaired my AC unit that was persistently unable to cool the apartment even after addressing the commonly known issue. That didn’t stop Carlos, he was relentless. This review is for Carlos, the Service Manager. Carlos was in charge of maintaining my place in College Park, Maryland. During my three years there, I never had to stress or worry in my apartment, since I knew I could always count on him if I ever needed anything. I’m not really handy or good with fixing things, but he would always take the time to answer my questions and was great at communicating. When a major water leak occurred in my kitchen at 5:30 one morning, Carlos responded immediately and quickly discovered and fixed the problem. He then let me borrow a blower and two dehumidifiers to dry my place, and didn’t leave until my apartment dried out as best as possible. Considering how early in the morning it was and that I lived by myself, it meant a lot that he was there for me in that stressful situation. When we found out one afternoon that the water heater had to be unexpectedly replaced, Carlos took immediate action. I was surprised to find out when I got home from work the entire new unit had been

Very nice apartments with large balconies and nice amenities. Also the service is great. If you need something fixed just ask the service staff or put in a ticket online and its taken care of. The front desk staff is super helpful as well. Moving in is a breeze as they have dollies available and a service elevator.

I have been living here for the last few months. This place is great, quiet, kept clean and peaceful community, still have some room to make it more better. During my move in I have encountered some maintenance issues in my unit however leasing office and maintenance staff helped me to resolve these. Carlos and his team was our maintenance tech on site and resolved my issues thoroughly. Carlos is always courteous, very attentive, always has a smile and willing to help. Thank you Carlos for all your hard work and we appreciate you & ur team. I also want to say thank you to the the complete community staff and Larone Potter for being very attentive and helpful.

Extremely grateful to a new maintanance team that is always responsive to any concerns that you might have! Carlos has it all handled perfectly and I’m extremely grateful to him for being so attentive to all the issues that I’ve had! I’ve lived in the building for about 4 or 5 years. I have seen the owners change as well as the teams. Maintenance has been rough traditionally. However, this new team is on it. I have had some issues with my apartment, but the requests are resolved quickly. For example, I had my power out in the kitchen and living room. I tried restarting the circuit breaker but I couldn’t get it to work. Within 15 mins of me putting in a ticket, Carlos from maintenance comes in and fixes it like a magician. Extremely grateful for the amazing improvement on the maintenance team!

I have lived in Cortland now for about a year. When I moved into the residency, they were under another management group before Cortland took over. I must admit the maintenance team could have been better, however, since Cortland Management has taken over. I began to see some steps in the right direction. The best thing they have done was hiring a new Maintenance head, Carlos. Since taking over the role, I have seen some major changes. Him and his team are friendly, polite, and professional. They will go the extra mile to get the job done. That shows a lot. Continue the great work!

I like what they have done with the place, new lobby area, the amenities spaces. What can I say about this property? Cortland Apartments are in a great location near the Pentagon and Pentagon City mall, and it’s also across the street from WholeFoods where I love to take my lunch break. This complex presents a very family-friendly environment, the management is down to earth and gets the job done right away that make everyone feel so welcome

Comfortable and quiet rooms with washer and dryer, parking garage, sky lounge for nice view, and grocery across street. Plus to me was being minutes from work too. Overall, my experience is the complete opposite of what other reviews have mentioned as customer service has been fantastic in showing me around and very helpful, of which Larone Potter was the one seeing me. Definitely recommend this place.

Wanted to give a google shout out to the two office team members Dashe and Jordan. Due to unforeseen circumstances out of my control I needed to move to another unit and the team made this transfer super easy for me. I can tell the Cortland team inherited some crazy stuff from the prior management company, and it takes time to fix everything, but their kindness made it a helluva lot easier. The maintenance team is hilarious and you can find them cracking jokes in the hallway. And of course the front desk crew is also awesome. Tbh I need to be better about asking their names but I’m gonna go ahead and say all of them are awesome. It’s important to remember while yes, prices are high, but compared to other units the pricing is very fair. I’m happy with the unit as a whole and applaud them for their hard work! If you want to live here ask plenty of questions and the team will tell you everything you need to know to make the decision to live here :)

For approximately 3 months, I rented an apartment at the now Cortlandt owned location at 1221 S Eads Street in Arlington, VA. The location was fitting for me and I had access to many businesses in the area. Food (Whole Foods and Harris Teeter) and merchandise shopping (Pentagon Mall) was nearby. The building staff was efficient and welcoming.
