My wife and I relocated to the DC area this summer, and Kenneth made a long-distance move far easier than it had any right to be. He walked us through multiple video tours so we could choose an apartment without being there in person. When there were mistakes on the sales side, he emailed the right people on our behalf and got them sorted out. What was a hectic and stressful move that had to happen in a hurry, his help made possible. What really stands out is that his help didn't stop once we signed the lease. We've been here two months, and he's still the person we know we can count on whenever an issue comes up. Just last week he helped us get a storage unit after none had been available for months. We love the apartment and the location, and especially how dog-friendly the community is. We've met so many great fellow dog owners here. I lived here for a short time and really enjoyed my apartment complex. I always bumped into one of the maintenance workers,Rosa, in the morning and she is so kind and helpful with any questions/concerns I have about the complex. HONEST REVIEW (from a currently disgruntled tenant) : - The front office is excellent (except for a random dude that works some Saturdays-not Cameron, he's great-that makes empty promises and never follows up) - The insides of the buildings almost always smell like dog piss - The apartment complex does NOT vet animals or screen them in any way and there are multiple aggressive/not well controlled dogs on the premises. - The pool and jacuzzi area is awesome except not always well kept with tons of bugs often floating in the ill-cleaned waters. - The elevator is broken 60-75% of the time, so living on the 3rd or 4th floor is a pain. - Parking is great and you can almost always find a spot. If you can't street parking is nearby. - They throw a lot of events and bring in food trucks which is a nice touch. - My wifi hasn't been working in over a month due to a coax that the apartment claimed wasn't their responsibility but after many attempts for clarification, they found out it was. That really sucks and still do

This is going to be a long review, but worth reading. First, I want to say that moving is hard. Moving to a completely new place comes with a lot of challenges, bumps, and unexpected situations. In my case, there were definitely moments when I felt overwhelmed and didn’t know how everything was going to work out. But in the end, Cortland made what felt like an impossible move possible. This was my first experience with Cortland. Before moving in, I saw the mixed reviews and understood that every apartment community will have its issues. I’m someone who is a problem solver. What stood out to me about Cortland was teamwork. From leasing to management and everyone involved behind the scenes, people worked with me, accommodated me, listened to me, and helped me through a very difficult transition. I honestly don’t believe my move would have been possible without the Cortland team. I had the most exceptional experience meeting Dessi and looking at the apartment complex. Everything was amazing, but the best was the service Dessi gave us as we walked and all the way to the end. I visited one of They’re Competitors, 30 minutes after meeting with her and the experience was horrendous. Nowhere near the excellent service that Desi provided. By far the best apartment complex that I have ever lived in that I will be extremely reluctant to leave. The front office people are all amazing (especially Austin) and proactive/helpful. The property is always super clean (and safe), and everything is well-maintained. This complex also has the best maintenance team of anywhere I've lived. They are all extremely kind, understanding, and efficient. I am especially fond of Gaspar, who treats all of us like we're an extension of his family. He has dropped everything to come help me during late night maintenance emergencies, and I couldn't be more grateful for him. I love it here!

I signed a one year lease but had to move out early due to relocation, the whole leasing team including Macey, Rama is really friendly and very helpful. Overall, I had a great time living in the property, which is newly renovated and is wonderfully located in the heart of pentagon city. Macey is a great manager and she really takes care of all the residents and very easy to work with. If I ever come back to DC, I will live here again.

I’ve been living here for about 9 months now, and overall, I’ve had a very good experience. It’s a great community with excellent amenities, including a swimming pool, gym, and Amazon lockers. The management team communicates well about community events, maintenance issues, reminders, and important alerts. The maintenance service is excellent and, most importantly, very prompt. My apartment’s AC unit broke down in the middle of a Texas summer, on a weekend. Since they needed to order a replacement part, the repair couldn’t be completed until Monday. However, instead of simply asking me to wait, they provided a temporary portable AC unit and even came out to install it. Things can break in any apartment, but I really appreciate how they handled the situation and provided a practical temporary solution instead of excuses.

This is a very nice building and is in a good location. But the staff is what really makes it great! Everyone in the office is very kind and responsive to whatever your needs may be. I worked a lot with Rama when I first moved in. She was so helpful on one of the most stressful days of my life. She answered every question before I even thought to ask it. Also, she takes the time to speak/greet me every time I see her, which is always appreciated! Malik in the office is also very helpful and helped address an issue quickly and without any delay!

I cannot explain in words how great my move in experience was because of Tiffany, Patrick and Q. I could not make it in person and Tiffany did my virtual tour and it was great. She took her time to explain and show everything like I was there. Just her professional presence on the call set a standard for the other apartments that I still needed to see. No one came close to it. Fast forwarding, I happen to be in the area the day I planned to see all apartments and stopped in to see if I could see the apartment in person. Patrick was busy and he apologized but told us we could do a self walkthrough of the pool area and when we were done to come back and he should be finished up with the customers he was assisting. ----- Updated review ----- We lived here for five years and overall had a great time. Stormie and Carlos truly are the best! They remained consistently responsive and helpful throughout our entire time here. We also really appreciated the landscapers and how well they did their jobs at keeping the property looking so welcoming and beautiful year-round. Additionally, we enjoyed the layout of our unit very much (Shorewood), how safe the area felt, and the general location of the property and its proximity to everything. Had maintenance come out and replace some drywall, painting and molding. AJ came in and was prompt and on time, handled everything in a quick orderly manner and left the place a little cleaner than when he first arrived. Definitely will be asking for his assistance again.

They are hands down one of the friendliest and most genuine people I’ve met in any leasing office. Every time I see him, he greets me with a big smile, remembers what’s going on in my life, and makes me feel truly welcome here. From day one, Hailee and Que have been incredibly helpful and patient — whether it was answering all my questions, helping with paperwork, or just checking in to make sure my apartment and stay have been going well. You can really tell he cares about the residents and wants everyone to feel at home, not just like another tenant. Because of these two great staff members in Cortland Rosslyn, I’ve really enjoyed my time living here. The building and amenities are great, but the community feeling he creates is what makes Cortland Rosslyn stand out. Edit on 09/17/26: Internet has significantly improved and have little issues for several months. Some brief outages but the signal returns very quickly. Really not an issue anymore. However, the amount of frogs that have spawned in this community is out of control and makes it difficult to enjoy the walking areas and it is unsafe for dogs. Edit on 03/08/26: The internet service here is so bad. I just don’t understand. When it WORKS it’s fine..but many days there are hours of extremely low wifi speed. If I didnt have a phone plan with hotspot i’d be miserable here. Dissapointed that i’m stuck with this service now. Julia assisted my girlfriend and I with our move-in and we are very happy with the process and our new home. We had many questions throughout but were always answered in a reasonable amount of time and she was super nice throughout it all.

As a guest, I frequently workout with my friend who is a resident at Cortland. I wanted to take my time to leave this review and to specifically mention Gloria. This building and community are really something special and Gloria is a perfect representation of that. She is always friendly, motivating us during our workouts, and maintaining the building’s gym beautifully. Even when she has to close the gym down for cleaning, she is always kind and respectful about kicking us out ;) all in all, this is a great place to visit and I look forward to hopefully becoming a resident myself eventually!

We have really enjoyed our residency here! The amenities are incredible and so well maintained, namely by Gloria! She keeps our building, gym, and business center so clean and enjoyable and she’s always so pleasant to talk with💗 Edit: I would also like to include Corbin specifically in my review. We’ve had multiple encounters with him and they’ve all been pleasant. The maintenance in this building is always prompt but we’ve found Corbin to be honest, respectful, knowledgeable, and kind each and every time he’s entered our home! I can’t say enough good things about Kenneth Shwe at Cortland Pentagon City. We visited several apartment communities in the area, and he was by far the most thorough and knowledgeable leasing agent we met. He covered everything during our tour—including things we hadn’t even thought to ask about—and never rushed us, even though our appointment was later in the day. His professionalism and attention to detail really set him apart. Our experience with Kenneth was absolutely five-star. Unfortunately, the concierges at both Pentagon City and South Eads gave us incorrect information when we were trying to arrange tours, which made things a bit confusing. Hopefully Cortland can improve this part of the experience, because the service we received from Kenneth was exceptional.

I have loved this complex since the first day I saw it. The office staff has always been so helpful and friendly. The maintenance team works so hard and gets things completed quickly. I have lived here for about 5 months now and I have loved every second of living here! Would recommend this place 10/10. I have lived in many apartment complexes over the last 12 years and this is the best one yet! I also got super lucky with a water front view apartment and you can’t beat the views!! Beyond grateful. The first thing I look for an apartment community is great communication and Cortland Royal Palm Beach is obviously making excellence in communication a priority. On the tour with Lorea I was impressed with how welcoming and knowledgable she was, as she thoroughly answered all my questions and showed me a truly amazing property. Cortland Royal is absolutely gorgeous and everyone there made me feel so at home! Have to give a shoutout to whole team, including Macey for such an awesome job as I have been a tenant here for 3 years. Living on 12th floor. For management to identify me Macey has commented that she sees me at the gym, offered by apartment, all the time. Yes that is me. Overall, loving the living space and good management, plus everything you want is close by and within walking distance from food to entertainment. This place has a quiet Sanctuary room and Wine and Whisk for social events, both on 18th floor of main building. 1221 has a pool on 16th floor and 1331’s pool is on 15th. Finally, in 1221 there is a grill area on 3rd floor and we just got an updated garage door with no clickers needed. Much nicer than what it used to be for garage.

I’d also like to state I had worked in property management for more than half a decade and I want to give huge kudos to the maintenance team here. Specifically Kenny and Corbin. In my career in property management Kenny is one of the most competent, personable, engaging, kind, and every other kind adjective you can think of when it comes to a maintenance manager. Kenny and his team do an incredible job keeping the community running, handling work orders in a timely effective manner, and building a relationship with residents. I’ve lived here 3 years in the same apartment. I’ve only had to request maintenance service twice, both were really simple issues. I don’t recall who helped me the first time, but Corbin assisted for the second issue. He dealt with it within an hour, asked if there were any other issues I forgot about, and he answered other questions I had. He was great. I haven’t recently interacted with the ladies in the front office but when I have, they’ve always been cordial with me and answered any questions I had. I appreciate the hard work Gloria puts into keeping the halls, gym, etc. clean. I live on the first floor and thankfully have had decent neighbors above and next to me who were not obnoxiously loud. The location is great with plenty of options for groceries and eating out, and being next to the Boise Greenbelt is great for getting out when the weather is nice. I love having an on-site gym and it has enough of what I need that I currently don’t desire getting a gym membership elsewhere. I don’t have any issues

Our AC stopped working in the middle of the night. We submitted a service request, thinking it would be looked at during regular business hours. Instead, Ricky exceeded all expectations and within an hour of submitting the request he was fixing the issue and ensured we had a home that was properly cooling. I have been a Cortland resident for over three years and just recently moved to Cortland Chandler Crossing. When I arrived to the property on the day of my move Amy had everything ready and listened to every concern I had and request for my new home. Ricky (maintenance manager) came to the rescue to fix the very minor issues I personally had with a few things. The next two days I had a few other request and Ricky never hesitated to jump on the task immediately, showing up at my door 7:30 sharp when I just had put the request in an hour earlier. Throughout all my request he never made me feel annoying or like I was asking for too much. I appreciate the level of service the team brought as we all know how stressful moving can be. I don't have her name but I want to say Sarah? She was the initial contact I had when doing my transfer paperwork and she also was such a pleasure to work with. Last night around 8pm our AC was not blowing cold air and so logged in the ticket and within the hour Ricky was here to look at the issue and immediately got on the roof and replaced the capacitor and fixed the issue. Highly recommend this guy as he has helped us on several occasions before. Do whatever you can to keep this guy and acknowledge him and praise. Thanks.

This apartment complex is awesome! Very well equipped with day to day needs. All the workers who maintain the complex regularly, a big thanks to all of them how much of their efforts, visibly make a pleasant experience for all of us living here. We have so many friends family visit us and no one can deny they haven’t seen any apartment complex of this kind. Also As a resident, no matter for what issues we opened ticket in the past they are very quick to send the resource. Ricky has always been very quick in fixing all our issues. We always appreciate his expertise.

Lived in two separate apartments under this complex, rooms were very spacious and the interiors are quite nice definitely worth the price. Pet friendly with a beautiful yard, fountain and pool even a decently good gym for an apartment. Most don't even have machines to offer but this one does, I usually use their gym when I'm too lazy to travel to mine. Its a nice apartment complex, I do recommend! Especially for families living near Schools or have places thats a walk away,

I have been at Cortland Chandler Crossing for 10 months now, and I can't say enough about the place. Most recently, the compressor on my air conditioning unit went out, and in less than 24 hours, the maintenance department had ordered a new part and replaced the old one. All other repair requests have also been addressed in less than 24 hours. It is comforting to be so well taken care of.

We have enjoyed living here for over a year now and just renewed our lease. Finding Apartments that are actually worth the cost these days is very challenging but Cortland has been a godsend. It's gated, beautiful pool and gym, close to several place and on bus routes. Close to schools. The office staff are friendly and the community room is very nice for hangouts. The units are spacious and they are very quick to fix things when needed right away. Shout out to Ricky and Richard (the two R's as you guys said 🤣) for fixing my microwave same day and air filter replacement at the same time.

This community has the security that my family wants. I dropped my car keys out of my pocket without realizing it, when I went to pick up the mail. The next day I found my keys taped to the wall by the mailboxes. UPDATE: We have lived here almost 5 years. We just resigned for 18 months. In the time we have lived here, the A/C has been replaced 4 times (not our fault). That, alone would be financially disastrous. Didn't cost me a penny. Anytime I need any maintenance, Ricky & Jose respond the same day. UPDATE 2: We have now lived here 6 years, and the community continues to excel as a place to live comfortably. Ricky continues to be awesome. Jose left, and now Ricky is the only maintenance person. He responds within 24 hours, and usually the same day. He's on-call 24/7. You need to get him some help -- he looks exhausted.

I just moved here last week and really impressed so far. Onboarding process was very smooth & everything was explained in such a organized way. Maintenance team is really amazing here, Ricky and Hose team is doing really fantastic job with prompt response. They solved some of our initial issues promptly with 100% satisfaction. I recently moved out of Cortland for a personal reason after living here for about 2 years. This is so far the best apartment among all I have lived and I would give 5 stars to everything about it, including supportive team, prompt maintenance response, clean environment, amenities, etc. They also provided lots of help during my move-out process and all the guidance was very clear. I gave a 5-star review when I just started to live here and the same review after leaving here. Highly recommend this community!

I've been at Cortland Chandler for just over a year and this is the best place I've lived so far. The location is great, the grounds are well-maintained, and the office staff are fantastic. The frequent events they host and food trucks are a bonus and appreciated. Huge shoutout to our maintenance team, Ricky and Jose! They are incredibly responsive, provide frequent updates on work orders (especially when outside contractors need to come in), and I've had nothing but the best interactions with them.

We’ve never enjoyed living at any apartment complex like we did here. We only left because we bought our home.

I moved in one month ago and this place has been nothing short of incredible. From Day 1, Jimmie was incredible at welcoming us into the property. The apartment is beautiful inside and out, the amenities are identical to a 5 star luxury resort, and the property even has small bunnies and birds that give it a charming touch. Ricky and Jose on the maintenance team were also incredible, responding to an issue with my dishwasher within an hour of me placing a request, and even gave helpful tips. Overall, Cortland Chandler Crossing has been an exceptional place to live!

Jimmie made the leasing / move in process so easy which was very much appreciated given we were moving across the country and really nervous to choose an apartment. He answered all of our questions, was always friendly and responsive, and was able to accommodate us moving in after hours / on a holiday weekend. We felt at home right away! I've been at Cortland Chandler Crossing for over two years and I love it. The team here is fantastic, especially Amy in the front office! They know the residents and the amazing maintenance team of Jose and Ricky have been the same for years. If anything comes up, they are right here for you. The grounds are lovely with mature trees and water features. I love that there are many grills and shady spots to entertain. I feel safe with the 24/7 gates and the community awareness here. This is not a HUGE community which makes it that much more easy to make friends and get the care/maintenance it deserves. Moreover, the layout of my larger 1BR is so cute and I use the actual dining room as my office. I have no plans to leave unless life throws a curveball! I highly recommend for singles, retirees, small families.
