A MESSAGE ABOUT CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) FROM OUR CEO
When we communicate with our associates, we address them as “Cortlandia.” I’d like to include everyone as part of Cortlandia in this message – whether you’re a current or future resident, associate, or partner. This is a unique and unprecedented time for all of us. Now, more than ever, we believe it’s important to continue our focus on providing excellent living experiences. The way we do that might look a little different over the next few weeks, but our commitment to our mission and values as a company will not change.
Health and Wellbeing
We take the health and wellbeing of our residents and associates very seriously. We’ve been monitoring closely the development of the coronavirus in all of our neighborhoods and following the guidance of the CDC to help minimize exposure to the virus. We have also closed our amenities and suspended community events and fitness classes for the time being. Our teams are still at our communities and ready to assist. To help us practice the CDC’s recommendations for social distancing, we’re asking that you reach out to the team by phone or email or use your resident portal when possible.
Commitment to Residents
We recognize that this may be a difficult time for some of our residents, especially when it comes to their income. We believe that our residents are at the center of everything we do, and now is no different. No resident should have to worry about whether they will have a roof over their head during this time. If you are experiencing a financial hardship due to recent events related to COVID-19, please reach out directly to your community team. All Cortland communities are committed to working with their residents as we navigate this situation together.
Leasing and Touring
If you’re looking for your next home, we’re still committed to helping you find the right home with us! We encourage you to use online leasing, contact our community teams with any questions, and ask us about alternative touring options through video chat and virtual tours.
Finally, I encourage everyone to rely on the latest releases from health officials at the CDC and World Health Organization for the most up-to-date information, including preventative measures to take. In the meantime, we will continue to focus on providing the best experience we can and helping everyone in Cortlandia live well.
