I’ve been living at Cortland Museum District for the past seven months, and it has been a great experience. Honestly, the best building I’ve ever lived in. The property is always extremely clean, well maintained, and very safe, making it a quiet and peaceful place to live. Everyone who works here is incredibly polite, kind, and welcoming, and they are always so sweet with my dog. The sense of community is amazing, and the neighbors are great. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

From the time we walked in we were received with warm smiles, jokes and laughter. That was really what helped shape our decision to move here. Stephanie, Ericka, Maggie and Mgbore were so awesome and accommodating to us even though we stopped by without an appointment at the end of their day, they never made us feel rushed and made our tour so much fun we didn’t want to leave on that very first day! The apartments we viewed were just gorgeous and the cherry on the cake. We can’t wait to call this place home!

I'm happy I chose Cortland for my apartment in Houston. Most importantly, the room is amazing. Quality materials, high ceiling, a great view from the balcony, and an efficient floor plan. The amenities are excellent too. Gym is spacious and smells nice, and the pool is well-maintained. Last but not least, the staff are super friendly. Maggie in particular is kind and always willing to help with anything.

I’ve lived here for a year, before Cortland took over, and wanted to give them time before leaving a review. The property is beautiful, well-built, and in the perfect location, allowing us to experience a bit of luxury nestled in Houston’s historic 3rd ward and museum district. I’m a native Houstonian and this is my favorite area. I love the view, the amenities, and the consistently clean grounds—especially with the new landscaping. That said, the apartments aren’t soundproof. Loud music and stomping from neighbors can be an issue, though the area itself is generally quiet. I’ve also experienced a few water shut-off situations; including overnight. So read over the negative reviews because this building does have a persistent problem that existed well before Cortland took over. It didn’t affect me much but that shouldn’t discount other people’s experiences and doesn’t mean issues won’t arise in the future. I do feel confident in Stephanie’s ability to handle it, though. The valet staff are top notch, sociable, and polite and I'm always greeted by the front desk staff. The staff at this property are Amazing! The manager is extremely engaged with this property and is abundantly knowledgeable on its features and needs of the residents. Maggie at the front desk is always wearing a smile and creates a friendly atmosphere and delivers quality service along side the concierge service. I've been living at The Southmore since 2019 and love it here. We're right in the city of Houston, but it still feels like a chill, hip neighborhood—no drama -very laid-back community. The apartments are super spacious, too. Unfortunately, I looked at other apartments, and these are the most spacious ones in Houston, with half baths and huge walk-in L-shaped closets. Talk about Luxury!! The Cortland Museum District is really luxurious and their staff is the best of the best. Ericka helped me out and was really knowledgeable of the property. She was the perfect representative to show me around and assist me with my move from California. I would recommend Ericka to anyone and everyone!! She is willing to go above and beyond. I've lived at Southmore (Cortland Museum District) for roughly a year, and during that time, the management changed to Cortland. I've been impressed with how quickly they fix small issues around my unit. Kenny, in particular, is a spectacular member of the team who is always friendly, professional, and thorough in his work. My dog even loves him! Furthermore, when Cortland took over, the previous management left some issues not initially brought to light (especially building plumbing). The unit manager, Stephanie, ensured this was looked into regardless of holidays, bad weather (we had an actual snow day in Houston this year), and around-the-clock. She followed up and saw the issue through till it was resolved. Maintenance issues are a natural part of living in any apartment or home, but Cortland's timely and professional response to these issues really showcases its character. I'm looking forward to renewing my lease!

I recently toured Cortland in the museum district and absolutely loved it! The museums are within walking distance along with many restaurants and bars. Beautiful views, great amenities, and the staff was so friendly and accommodating.

I toured Cortland Museum District and was very excited about the apartments and all the amenities . The manager Stephanie was very helpful as when l got there the leasing agent was out on a tour and Stephanie the manager decided to give me the tour and l’m sold on moving there soon. Being a resident at the Southmore has been an amazing experience. The building is always clean, smells like a hotel, and impresses all my friends and family who visit me. I can't say enough wonderful compliments about the staff who are courteous, professional, and truly go out their way to make the residents happy. This is one of the best apartments I have lived in.

I've lived at The Southmore Apartments for the past two years, and I must say, the recent changes under Cortland's new management have been fantastic! In just the past few weeks, I've already noticed significant improvements. The communication from the team has been excellent, especially thanks to Maggie, who is always helpful and attentive. One of the biggest improvements I've seen is the new system for handling mail and larger packages. It's been much more efficient, and I appreciate these necessary changes. I'm looking forward to seeing what other upgrades are in store under the new management.
