As of the most recent management, things have improved significantly at Cortland at the Nations. Communication has improved. The new manager in charge is friendly and is putting forth an effort to know the residents here; event schedules are seemingly more organized, occurring more frequently compared to the past few months. However, I would like to see more events that encourage socialization with residents, such as paint and sips, tastings (ie. coffee, tea, beer, whiskey, etc) and game nights that occur at hours residents are actually able to attend (for example, past working hours). Despite living here for over two years, I still haven't met that many neighbors, which is a bit sad. They also seemed to have delayed (or, hopefully cancelled) the new lighting project that was being put into place, so it is good to see feedback is considered. Location is prime. Units are beautiful. Very dog and pet friendly. Pool is small but workable. Amenities are nice and well kept. Maintenance is amazing. The package room

UPDATE: Things have improved significantly over the last couple of weeks. It seems like the new team in place is finding their footing, which is awesome. Looking back, I think a lot of these issues we were experiencing were the result of issues at the corporate level. Updated to 4 stars. I still really hate the new lighting, which a lot of other residents have expressed concern over, but it is what it is, I guess. UPDATE: Updated Star rating from 5 to 2. This place isn’t what it used to be. Since losing both Mackenzie and Michaela, our community is a shell of what it was. Long-time residents are moving out in droves and repeated complaints about “updates” around the community (like industrial hospital-like lighting being installed throughout the community hallways) have gone completely unanswered (except for them continuing to install them), while other vanity projects are prioritized. We no longer have a monthly community events calendar, so there is nothing to look forward to here. It’s a shame how quickly

Lived here for a few months so far and I love it. Pros: It's a very quiet apartment complex. The walls seem to be well insulated so you can't hear your neighbors, even if they're having a party next door (which has happened). The office staff is very helpful. JoJo is very nice and helpful. Maintenance is kind and timely. The gym is always clean and has everything you need and nothing you don't. They host events there and are very welcoming and pet friendly. Cons: There is a train outside of the complex (which is kind of a neutral). It's by an Innophos depot/manufacturing facility (which is also a neutral for me), along with an intersection where they need to sound off at. The train does go off, but it's only a few times during the day and RARELY at night. I found one day that my batteries were missing from my thermostat and there was no record of anyone coming in my apartment. This doesn't bother me as much as I know it would for some, but it should be mentioned because it has been the only odd experie

I had a great tour with the property manager Chanel! She was incredibly helpful and took the time to answer all of my silly questions. The community was very clean, which is always a huge factor for me. I was also impressed that they were able to fit me in as a walk in and were happy to do so. Chanel’s attitude alone sets this community apart.

I came to tour with a friend and I'll definitely be back when my own lease is up! Chanel was so helpful and knowledgeable. It got us both excited about Cortland. Our experience so far has been great, we really enjoyed our tour, everything was so clean and smelled good. Chanel has been helping my friend and we only have good things to say about her and this apartment. Actually gets me excited to move lol

Nelson Garcia, Cortland’s handyman, is the absolute BEST! He responds rapidly to all service requests fixing and maintaining everything perfectly and he goes above and beyond to make sure everything’s as it should be! Recently he came to solve a wasp issue on our balcony and ended up cleaning off the cobwebs I couldn’t reach on the balcony ceiling too! He does an amazing job keeping the building in working order and he’s always so pleasant and kind. He’s a huge perk to living at the Cortland in the Nations! Shout out to Amirna too! She keeps the building looking so clean and neat. She’s always so bright and early and cheerful! We appreciate how clean and great the building always looks, thank you Amirna!

Best maintenance team! Especially Nelson Garcia! Goes above and beyond! He took care of the things that he noticed weren’t on the original service request and knocked everything out quickly!

It’s a great location with a very responsive staff and friendly service and top notch amenities. The units were very modern and well taken care of, and thus far we are enjoying our residency here. Excellent walkability to restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and the commute to things you would want to do in Nashville is not bad at most times of the day. We like it here! As a side note, I don’t understand the negative reviews about the noise. The train passes by twice a day, maybe, at most, during hours you probably should be awake anyway, and the factory I genuinely thought was someone mowing their lawn a few miles away - it’s just a low hum that is only audible outside, with no other noise occurring. These reviewers should try living somewhere actually loud like Antioch near Bell Road where street racing and constant sirens cause so much noise pollution. It is also relatively safe for Nashville. Nothing compared to areas with track records of higher crime like Antioch or Madison. Really baffling for me. Edit:

I've been living at Cortland at the Nations for a little over a year now, and its been one of the best apartment complexes I've ever called home. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Any maintenance requests or communications to the office are handled pretty much immediately. I especially love how communicative they are regarding events or any ongoing issues at the complex. One of the most important things to me when finding a place to live is how pet-friendly they are. This place is incredibly pet-friendly. My pup gets so much love here, especially from Michaela at the front office. Seeing her is probably the highlight of his day. Michaela also has been exceptional when handling any issues I've had; I just mention them while my pup is saying hi, and shortly later will get notified of an email from the office or of a maintenance request that has been submitted for me.
