We’ve had a great experience living at this apartment community. From the day we moved in, the team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They knew we arrived before our household goods (HHG), so they thoughtfully put together a welcome bag with essential items to help us through those first few days. That small gesture meant a lot to our family. The staff is always responsive and professional. Whenever we’ve submitted a maintenance request, it’s been completed promptly and without any issues. Ben, Paul, and the entire maintenance team have been outstanding—friendly, reliable, and genuinely committed to taking care of the residents. The amenities are also excellent. The pool is beautiful and well maintained, the gym has everything we need, and the resident lounge is a great space to relax or work. My wife and I moved into this building a couple of months ago. The renovations have really turned it around. As an older building, it still has the luxurious and spacious layouts that other newer buildings don’t really have (a separate kitchen, a balcony etc). The interiors are excellent, the appliances appear not to consume as much energy as they did in my previous building. The maintenance staff have been extremely helpful and responsive. Ben is a constant friendly and helpful presence at the front desk. I wish that they would expand the gym equipment a bit because that’s the only thing that’s really missing!

Cortland Arlington is the best place to live. From day one, the entire team has been professional, responsive, and very friendly. Property Manager Ben goes above and beyond to ensure residents feel welcomed. The apartments are newly renovated, modern and well-maintained. Balconies are huge and a fantastic feature. The amenities are excellent, and the community events are always great. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to call home in Arlington.

What an absolutely beautiful building and renovation— a true gem. Where else are you guaranteed a massive balcony overlooking a pool that looks like it belongs at the Four Seasons! Not to mention, Ben has been so incredibly helpful during the entire process. My partner and I arrived well past hours for any standard leasing office, desperate to take a look at an apartment and he obliged with a smile and fabulous information to help us make a decision. If you’re searching for an apartment in the Rosslyn/Clarendon area I highly recommend the Cortland Arlington, and getting in touch with Ben specifically.

After a month living here, I’ll give this place a solid 1 (not a zero, but not a 2) and these are my main reasons why: Pros- the people at the front desk have been so so nice to me and my dog everyday and i really appreciate that. Also, my apartment itself is actually very nice in my opinion (considering it is lower cost than other apartment complexes around us). Cons- So pretty much everything else is a con. Within my first few weeks here, my favorite staff member left citing being treated terribly by management here as has been the case for other staff members that were well loved as well. When i moved in, my apartment was not cleaned at all and, while they did come to clean it as I was moving in, its still pretty bad that it wasnt already done ahead of time. Also, on that note, during my leasing process, it was nearly impossible to get anyone on the phone to answer my questions. The security and safety issues are extremely legitimate concerns as well. One year in and I'd choose Cortland Arlington again without hesitation. It checks every box and then some. The apartments are spacious and beautifully renovated with great natural light and large balconies that make the units feel expansive. Because it's an older building that was thoughtfully updated, the soundproofing is genuinely impressive and far better than most modern builds. The renovation was done with real taste, and it shows in every detail. Management, front desk, and maintenance are all responsive, professional, and easy to work with. Requests are handled quickly and the common areas are kept spotless. It's clear the building is actively and attentively managed. The amenities are great. The gym is compact but well-stocked, and residents get preferred pricing at the Orangetheory studio less than a block away. My wife and I recently moved into a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at Cortland Arlington located at 1550 Clarendon Boulevard, Rosslyn. All aspects of the process were outstanding! After an online search, we met with a very helpful staff member and received a tour of our prospective apartment. The application process was extremely easy and well mapped out using the Cortland app. There was plenty of loading dock/elevator availability for the actual move in. We're very satisfied with our apartment, particularly the all new kitchen appliances and very large balcony. The maintenance staff responds within 24 hours to repair issues we submit on a service order on the Cortland app. The amenities are excellent, including a great lounge, gym and soon-to-be-opened pool. All the staff are professional, easy to work with and very service focused. Big shout out to Ben, Arlen and Desi who have all been extremely helpful every step along the way. Lived in the building for more than a year, and had a really good experience. I didn’t have a car so never experienced any of the issues with the parking garage. My apartment felt so cozy, the view was amazing, never had issues with WiFi (but I know some neighbors did), insulation was great (barely turned AC or heating on), new appliances are so cool and can be controlled from your phone. The front desk staff is also super friendly. The only non-positive is some of the amenities like the gym being very small and the grills being accessible only in summer. Overall had a great time in this building.

Everything is very convenient starting from having access to secure building doors like gym, club room and lobby on the phone. If I have guests coming or left my key, I can easily access the door on my phone. The package pickup is also smooth, no need to wait someone to bring. You can pick up any time. Never had problem with it and is very convenient. Compared to other buildings, the inside of the apartment is spacious and number of tenants are small which means it has neighborly feel, and more private. The backyard/pool is even better. Large pool, direct sunlight to tan. Spacious, clean grilling area.

I love Cortland Arlington. It has been an amazing home for me and my boyfriend. It’s clean, rent is cheap and the people who work here are incredible. So helpful so personable and gracious 12/18/2025 update: amazing staff!!!!! And the buildings renovations are really cool too. It’s not always perfect, but they fix things immediately if anything ever gets broken.

I have moved in this building at the beginning of the year and really enjoy it so far. The staff is always very nice and the amenities are good too. The neighboorhood is a real plus with many shops, activities and restaurants accessible walking distance. There’s also a bike station just in front of the building and a metro 6 min walk distance

Easy access to metro, shopping, entertainment, and more! The concierge staff day and night are friendly knowledgable with any questions we have had. Living at Cortland Arlington has been a wonderful experience. The leasing office and staff manage the building very well. It’s a pleasure to call Cortland Arlington our home. Our unit has great lighting and is perfectly fitting for a couple. Residential events and activities are organized every week and it gives us an opportunity to interact with our neighbors.

The new management has really done wonders for this place, things are getting done and the communication between them and us residents is leaps and bounds ahead of where it previously was. Even going as far as bringing in a wonderful maintenance team from Texas (it's been the same guys twice now) who are extremely courteous and personable, while fixing issues we've been complaining about for months , in a matter of minutes. I am finally glad to call Arlington my home, well done cortland.

I was able to view 3 types of available apartments that I was looking for and I was impressed with them all - the Clarendon was by favorite! I was in DC and I visited some friends and this property is amazing. It has everything that a professional would want. I got on the elevator and not knowing there were the super nice people just chatting away to me. Come to find out they were the office staff they didn’t know me and I didn’t know them, but the property is beautiful.
