Homebuilders Struggle During All-Important Spring Season
The U.S. Census Bureau reports new data on home sales Tuesday morning. Homebuilders are facing a lot of headwinds as we head deeper into the spring season, including rising construction costs, labor shortages and too few buyers who can afford new homes. Cortland’s Chief Economist Brad Dillman spoke to Marketplace on the obstacles builders face and how the lack of attainable housing has kept many would-be buyers out of the single-family market.
