Cortland names first chief marketing officer

One of Atlanta’s largest apartment management companies made a key hire earlier this month to better its marketing operations. Atlanta-based Cortland has appointed local industry veteran Carol Hoeller to be its first chief marketing officer, effective July 7.

This is the apartment manager’s second major C-suite appointment in recent months. Cortland tapped Sandra Kim-Suk to serve as its chief financial officer in March.

In this new role at the company, Hoeller will spearhead the execution of Cortland’s marketing initiatives related to brand promotion and generating demand, according to a July 10 news release.

She will also lead Cortland’s marketing strategies intended to attract capital markets groups, such as institutional investors.

“With her extensive experience and a strong history of fostering significant transformation and growth across multiple sectors, [Hoeller] is perfectly positioned to propel our operations forward,” Cortland’s president of operations, Juan Bueno, said in a prepared statement. “Her leadership is set to refine our hospitality-driven resident experiences significantly and we are excited about the new directions and achievements that will unfold under her guidance.”

Hoeller’s career in marketing spans more than two decades.
