Avondale in Bloom

Steven DeFrancis discussed the Atlanta neighborhood where Cortland Decatur East is currently under construction. “I’ve long thought Avondale has been a hidden jewel, just waiting for folks to recognize the opportunity,” Steven DeFrancis, chief executive officer of Cortland, said.  Cities such as Chamblee, Doraville, and Brookhaven have also seen new residential and commercial development boom because of their connection to MARTA. But, DeFrancis said, “You also don’t get the historic charm and dynamic culture of a neighborhood like Avondale, or that of its proximate neighborhoods like Decatur and Inman Park.”
