I’ve been living at Cortland Broad Street for over 12 months now, and I’ve just signed on for another year — which probably says everything already! I’ve genuinely loved my time here. The team are incredibly friendly, attentive, and always go above and beyond to help. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, which makes such a difference day to day. Whenever I’ve had any issues, whether it’s maintenance or just a general query, they’ve been quick, responsive, and really efficient in getting things sorted. Most importantly, I’ve always felt safe, welcomed, and appreciated as a resident. A big thank you to all the staff for making the past year so enjoyable — I’m really happy to be staying for another 12 months!

I’ve been living at Cortland since September 2025, so I wanted to give a proper, honest breakdown of what it’s like living here and what I genuinely enjoy about it. 1. The reception staff Yasmin, yemi, Sam and Beth are honestly some of the loveliest people you could meet. They’re always welcoming, friendly, and easy to talk to. At this point, I sometimes find myself going down to reception just to sit and chat with them instead of staying in my flat—that’s how comfortable they make the place feel. 2. The shared spaces I’m actually writing this from the Wright Suite right now, which says a lot. The shared spaces are one of the biggest highlights here. They’re super easy to book—just pop down to reception—and most of the time they’re available. I’ve never had any issues with availability. There’s a great variety too: the Ryland , Gronvsner Suite, Sky Suite, Sky Lounge, and business lounges. Whether you want to relax, work, or hang out, there’s always a space for it. The design is amazing and everything is so accessible. From booking lounges to getting your parcels. The only thing I would say is the heating could have been better… to be honest there really is no point in putting them on as they don’t heat up any of the rooms.

I like the management and the facilities, there is a standard of cleanliness and maintenance that I couldn’t find anywhere else while renting. Building management and staff are always available and helpful. Can ask or bring any problems to the front desk and they try their hardest to fix any issue. The team are always welcoming and understanding. Sometimes the rooms can get quite cold, however we don’t use the heating as we worry about the cost. The internet is great and better than expected. Wish the bin storage was more organised in terms of recycling.

From the moment I was shown around, I was impressed. I wanted an unfurnished property and a smalller apartment, yet space was still generous for the price. The features and specifications in the flat are of a high standard,bar the under powered heating. The management team , maintenance team and security team feel like a second family. Special mentions to Lou from maintenance (sad to see her go). From the management team Sam, Beth and Trudie stand out the most. Arm on and Harry on security are also fabulous people.

I think the design of the one small bedroom is good but if there were table and 4 chairs in the kitchen instead of 2 chairs and kitchen corner it would be better. For the gym I would recommend adding height boxes and small weight balls. For the lounge and suites I would recommend adding table tennis and chess for the board games.

Modern with clean lines and high spec appliances throughout. Our apartment is comfortable, could be a bit warmer, would the company consider adding an extra heater? Having said that, the maintenance team are on point, they make every effort to make sure repairs are done in a timely manner and to a high standard. The team as a whole are especially warm and welcoming, they always have time to speak with us and make sure we are ok. Knowing someone is on site 24/7 is also reassuring . The building feels secure. In particular i would like to praise Sam, Beth and Viv for their bright personalities and ace customer service skills and events skills. Yemi is also the go to man for any issues arising from residents behaviour, he knows how to have a difficult conversation effectively with positive outcomes. Grace adds sophistication and panache with her sweet nature and excellent listening skills. Living on our street is generally quiet and residential. Parking is permit-controlled, which helps with availability, but visitor spaces are limited and often full by early evening. Absolutely, amazing accommodation. Really Good value for money, quite places to work, socialise and meet people, facilities are excellent washer dryer. You don't have a separate washing machine and a separate drier it is fantastic. Amenities are excellent staff, lovely lobby area, beautiful. It's just a really, really nice place to be the gym, massive. Cortland is a newly built building, so the infrastructure is really well maintained. There are many sharing spaces in the building, and everything is clean. The gym is really spacious as well. Though could install more gaming facilities like a mahjong table or provide some board games to share.

The building design is lovely, it's done to a very high standard and has a great gym and plentiful social and work spaces! I wasn't told this before I moved in, but the hot water heating is done by an air-source heat pump in every flat which, as someone who is very environmentally conscious, is a great bonus! My biggest issue with the flats is the quality of the appliances which, although they look nice, are very basic. The microwave is very low power, tiny and isn't digital, whilst I haven't had an oven as basic as this one since I was a student! It's a bit annoying to have a separate washer and dryer rather than a combined unit, because it means I can't put a laundry load on overnight and wake up to dry clothes (instead I have to wait for the clothes to wash before moving the wet clothes into the dryer). On the other hand though, the hob is great, it's induction which means it heats water (or anything else) incredibly quickly when you want it to. I am not satisfied with the garbage facilities because the garbage is behind the garden, which often causes flies to fly into the house. I have to fight four or five flies every month. My friend who lives on the 23rd floor still encounters this problem. It is recommended to put the garbage bin further away, or build a wall or a sealed space to store the garbage bin. In addition, I think some of the garden decorations are unnecessary. I am allergic to pollen, and sometimes it makes me sneeze when it wafts into the room. Other aspects are good, but I think the bookable lounge or kitchen should allow more people to enter.

Feels like a luxury hotel, but with my pajamas on. Living at Cortland Broad Street is like hitting the apartment jackpot. The amenities are top-tier, so cozy and homely, I’ve even considered cancelling my social life and weekend plans just to stay in. It’s giving five-star resort, minus the overpriced minibar. The building design? Chef’s kiss. Whoever planned this layout deserves a medal, or at least a lifetime supply of complimentary lattes. And the staff? Absolutely amazing and very very friendly. Always helpful, always smiling, and always appear right when you need them. Security is on point too during evenings and nights—like a calm, watchful superhero presence. This place is spotlessly clean. The floors are so clean I feel bad even walking on them. The residents are super friendly—you can’t make it to the exit without getting at least three “Hey, how’s it going?” greetings. Let’s talk hideouts—this place is full of them: the Ryland Suite, Sky Suite, Sky Lounge, Business Lounge, and the Governor’s Suite.

I haven't got enough words to express how much we love living here! Superbly pet friendly, our 2 doggies love living here as they have a great pet park and a great policy - the staff love them and free treats on the reception desk sways their love. We have had a couple of minor challenges since we have been here and the staff have been nothing but accepting and quick to resolve. They should have charged us for something we accidentally damaged, but they didn't. Trudie as the building manager is nothing short of a superstar, she literally wants nothing better than to have a community full of happy residents who can socialise, use the bookable rooms, and generally having the best living experience possible. This oozes from her, and if something/someone puts that at risk, she is quick to get on top of it. Talking of bookable rooms, we love the free to use rooms around the building for social events and the business lounge is used daily by me for work, of which have quiet spaces and a conference room if i needed

What a fantastic place to live! We love it here, the staff are always prepared to go the extra mile and the facilities available to residents are second to none. Great views over the city and it's lovely to see the sunrise every day. The cost is justified when you consider the quality and security of the property together with facilities such as a gym, private garden, dog park, residents social lounge and business suite, not to mention the fabulous sky lounge and suite available to reserve for special occasions. Well worth going to work for!

As an incorrigible cynic who has lived here for 3-months and withheld judgement for some time, I can now safely say that this place is on an entirely different level to other apartment sites (Cortland or otherwise) across the UK. I spent some time searching for a more premium apartment block in Birmingham, and that does not currently exist. - The apartment quality is exactly as good as it looks in the pictures. The finish is particularly good, with high-quality materials used throughout; nothing in here feels 'budget'. Everything works without issue. - The management/reception team go above and beyond to help residents. You will frequently run into the head-managers in the lobby because they appear to actually live here, making them invested in the quality of the spaces. - The building has no security issues whatsoever. - There is a permanently in-situ and high-competency maintenance team who will address any issues in your apartment at short-notice (I had scuff-marks on a wall repainted for vanity, nothing e

I was really impressed with the building the friendliness of all the staff was excellent as soon as stepped foot into the building the Concierge was very friendly and helpful in organising the tour and sales office chat with Isabelle the tour was great from Isabelle very well explained aswell as didn’t once feel rushed excellent level of service. We were shown the different flats on offer which really impressed us how spacious and good designed they were. Isabelle showed us around the very nice spaces for residents, garden and sky garden with stunning views across Birmingham City Centre overall we were really impressed with the tour, building and the friendly service from all the staff!
